Federal budget deficit to dip to $1.1T, CBO says

Below is a very biased article but I am going to attempt to provide analysis that wades through the spin.

TRANSPARENCY ALERT: WHAT I BELIEVE -
My attendance of the "Concorde Coalition's 'Fiscal Wakeup Tour' almost 5 years ago has reset my perspective. Long before any candidates for 2008 stepped up to the plate they told the audience the "job #1" for the next President will be to honestly level set with the American people. They argued that for America to delay the "day of reckoning" of its fiscal collapse Americans are going to have to:

Expect LESS from Government
Pay MORE in taxes until this crisis is abated.

I personally believe that more taxes are required to abate the situation that is growing BUT history shows that if spending cuts are not cemented beforehand - the increased flow of tax money in will be used to feed the furnace with the insatiable appetite. People argue that these two points are not mutually exclusive. The fraudulent accounting of the federal government where a "spending cut" is not real - mandates that legitimate cuts be made as a necessary first step.

Further the notion of ORGANIC GDP GROWTH as a means of revenue increase (See Bill Clinton's term) must be focused upon. No longer can we accept promises of "spending as investments" without employing some intermediate checks (earnest money) along the way. No individual or corporation would keep pumping "investment dollars" into a portfolio that is not providing sufficient returns that they inspect in the spirit of defending their own interests. When it comes to government money - "Federal Treasury Raiders" from the right and the left always throw in some diversionary theories to compel us to take our eye off of the bottom line (example: "Social Justice" or "National Defense").

The Associated Press tries hard to tie the "Bush Era Tax Cuts" as the main culprit. In doing so they can't bring themselves to explain the (estimated) $850 billion in shortfall once we take away the 'Bush Tax Cuts" as a source of "revenue loss".

This all comes down to one's view on spending and taxes.

Tax Cuts create deficits because the government does not have the revenues necessary to prevent deficit
Spending over and above the tax revenue digest, without curtailing the demanded "standard of living" per the concepts of "social justice" creates deficits

It is clear that the AP favors the first bullet point as they said little about how the failure to control spending, adjusting the expectations of Americans downward, in line with the actual revenues. This coupled with a firm belief in PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS that would make a 90% marginal tax rate on ANYONE a confiscatory violation of democratic and constitutional standards.

The previous research of the so-called "Bush Era Tax Cut" "cost" the federal government a total of $1.8 trillion over 10 years. This is about $180 billion per year. Let's round this up to $200 billion per year going forward.

If this is the impact of these "Tax Cuts For The Rich" why then did the Associated Press refer to them as the primary accelerator of the national debt but not the unmentioned $900 billion that remains on the table?

The longer we continue the course of "spending beyond our means" and "taxes that don't match the crisis" -the more assured that we will have a fatal failure in the future will be made so.

WASHINGTON — A new budget report released Tuesday predicts the government will run a $1.1 trillion deficit in the fiscal year that ends in September, a slight dip from last year.

The Congressional Budget Office report also says that annual deficits will remain in the $1 trillion range for the next several years if Bush-era tax cuts slated to expire in December are extended, as commonly assumed.The report is yet another reminder of the perilous fiscal situation the government is in, but it's commonly assumed that President Barack Obama and lawmakers in Congress that little will be accomplished on the deficit issue during an election year.
The first wave of statements from lawmakers had a familiar ring as each party cast blame on the other.
"Four straight years of trillion-dollar deficits, no credible plan to lift the crushing burden of debt," said House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., "The president and his party's leaders have fallen short in their duty to tackle our generation's most pressing fiscal and economic challenges."
"We will not solve this problem unless both sides, Democrats and Republicans, are willing to move off their fixed positions and find common ground," said Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad, D-N.D. "Republicans must be willing to put revenue on the table."

The CBO study also predicts modest economic growth of 2 percent this year and forecasts that the unemployment rate will remain above 8 percent this year and next. That is based on an assumption that President Barack Obama will fail to win renewal of payroll tax cuts and jobless benefits by the end of next month.

That jobless rate is higher than the rates that contributed to losses by Presidents Jimmy Carter(7.5 percent) and George H.W. Bush (7.4 percent). The study predicts unemployment to remain above roughly 5 percent — until 2016. The agency also predicts that unemployment will remain at 7 percent or above through 2015

The new figures also show that last summer's budget and debt pact has barely made a dent in the government's fiscal woes.

The pact imposed $2.1 trillion in spending cuts over 10 years, but lawmakers are already talking about easing across-the-board spending cuts required under the agreement. The latest estimates predict $11 trillion in accumulated deficits over the 2013-2022 time frame if the Bush-era cuts in taxes on income, investments, large estates and on families with children are renewed. Obama has proposed largely extending them, but allowing them to expire for upper-income taxpayers.
Last year, Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, tried but failed to reach a "grand bargain" on the deficit, an effort that got hung up over taxes and cuts to major benefit programs like Medicare. A subsequent attempt by a congressional "supercommittee" to find smaller saving sputtered over the same issues.
What's left is a heap of unfinished business that comes to a head at the end of the year: expiring tax cuts and painful across-the-board cuts to the Pentagon and many domestic programs. To top it off, another politically toxic increase in the debt limit will be needed at some point shortly after the November elections.
The deficit would require the government to borrow 30 cents of every dollar it spends. Put another way, the deficit will reach 7 percent of the size of the economy, a slight dip from last year's 8.7 percent of gross domestic product.
The CBO report shows that the deficit dilemma would largely be solved if the tax cuts enacted in 2001 and 2003 — and renewed in 2010 through the end of this year — were allowed to lapse. Under that scenario, the deficit would drop to $585 billion in 2013 and to $220 billion in 2017.
But expiration of those tax cuts would slam the economy, CBO said, bringing growth down to a paltry 1.1 percent next year.ar but still very high by any measure.

Kathy Nicholas had planned to pay quiet tribute Thursday at the tomb of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. So had President Bush. The combination was anything but quiet.
Nicholas was among about 700 people who booed, chanted and beat drums near the typically placid grave site, angry that Bush was there on what would have been the slain civil rights leader’s 75th birthday.
“When I heard Bush was coming here I couldn’t believe it. I was outraged and disgusted, and I just think it’s a photo op. It’s so transparent,” said Nicholas, a flight attendant who brought a sign that read: “Mr. Bush, May Dr. King’s spirit rise up n welcome you, touch you n speak to you.”
The protesters pushed past Secret Service barricades. They pounded on the sides of three city buses parked on the street in front of King’s tomb to block them from the president’s motorcade.

Although King Center officials did not invite Bush to join their planned celebration, Mrs. King met briefly with the president.
Shortly before Bush's arrival, a line of city buses parked in front of the center, preventing Bush and the protesters from seeing each other, although the demonstrators' jeers and slogans were not muted.
Their signs indicated the protesters were drawn from a wide coalition. "War is not the Answer," "Promote Peace, Not Halliburton," "HUD Sponsors Racism," "Impeach the Liar" and "No Blood for Oil" were just a few of them.

Outside, the protesters chanted "Bush Go Home" and "Peace Not War." They carried signs protesting the war and calling for "Money For Jobs And Housing, Not War."
Before Bush's arrival for the 15-minute stop, some of the protesters had broken through barriers around the King Center, leading to two arrests, the Atlanta police said, and prompting the authorities to place the buses between the demonstrators and the president.
The White House had arranged for Bush to stop at King's resting place on a day when the president was scheduled to be in Atlanta for a fund-raising event. Sheriee Bowman, a spokeswoman for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, said that the group respected the president's right to pay tribute to King. But she suggested that the civil rights organization saw Bush's presence as politically motivated.
"We question the integrity of the timing of the move because last year at this time he took a stand against affirmative action, the Michigan case, which is part of Dr. King's legacy," she said, referring to the Supreme Court case that considered the use of race in college admissions.

President Bush's visit on Thursday to observe what would have been the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s 75th birthday isn't sitting well with area tribute organizers.
They say Bush invited himself to their party and will potentially force the cancellation of some events due to security concerns. What's more, they say, Bush will profit from a fund-raiser he will piggyback with his visit to Atlanta.
About 3:45 p.m., the president will lay a wreath at the late civil rights leader's crypt at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. The president announced his visit on Friday.
But the MLK March Committee, a group of area civil rights activists who worked with King, say they have worked for months on a program to honor the civil rights leader at Ebenezer Baptist Church, across the street.
"They told us that the Secret Service wanted us out of there by 2 p.m.," said the Rev. James Orange. "We are not leaving the church." The Ebenezer program from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. focuses on human rights.
A White House spokesman said the president's visit has been well-communicated with the King Center.

Still glowing (obviously) from the report that fewer Black people in his home city of Baltimore have been murdered in 2011 than the year prior BUT understanding that he will never be asked why "Baltimore COUNTY" has so much fewer murders by comparison - US Representative Elijah Cummings has no fear in living vicariously through Obama's Blackberry.

If you read his "3rd Person" account of Obama's promises and successes carefully you will understand that he can't bring himself to speak from the perspective of Black Americans and the present struggle that many of us face.

The reason why Rep Cummings is in power in Baltimore and a person who thinks as I do is not is because he wisely understands that the people on "The Corner" want to escape from their circumstances and thus, living vicariously through Obama and the entire Democratic Machine as they do battle on the field with the opposition plays like a real life soap opera that provides the necessary escapism.

Why didn't Rep Cummings detail what THE BLACK COMMUNITY has as REQUIREMENTS that compelled them to make a 95% investment in Obama AND a 100% fortification of Democrats through every vein of representation that extends from the heart of the community, through the city, county, state and federal government? Why doesn't he translate the relative success of this force in addressing the problems?

ANSWER - HE KNOWS THAT HE DOESN'T HAVE TO DO THIS FOR THE VOTERS WITH THE CONSCIOUSNESS THAT HE AND OTHERS HAVE CONDITIONED WITHIN THEM.

If we move out of the House chambers and consider how the policies that Progressives champion it is clear that Obama needs to regulate his people rather than cheerlead.

Who more than those in his caucus educate public school children? It is important that no one be lulled into standing at our present point and only look forward. This same "vision" of a better education for American children has been given in every decade. It is more disarming than it is definitive.

Ironically the same disarmament is the spirit that allows the local adults who play the main role in the education of the children in their community off of the hook. Instead of understanding what they NEED TO DO they are told that this is a POLITICAL STRUGGLE and that there is someone who stands in their way.

High tech jobs are laudable. Yet the punitive rhetoric and indictments are counter to them being attracted to this county or for those who are here to retain their manufacturing operations in the country. Boeing attempted to establish a second plant for their 787 Dreamliner production in the "right to work state" of South Carolina. The Obama Administration showed that their dream of "high tech jobs" has an amount of stings attached that can strangle such growth. Not until the labor unions from Boeing told the NLRB to let go of Boeing's neck did they agree to drop their regulatory action against Boeing.

The Solyndra Solar scandal shows that "high tech green jobs" can also be a gateway for crony capitalism.

I watched a few weeks ago as the tensions with Iran were ratcheted up as Iran made threats in the Persian Gulf. At that time various Obama syncophants were heard warning about dependency on foreign oil.
Fast forward a few weeks and the ruling of the Keystone Pipeline we saw them cheering. Oh yeah - Canada is indeed a "foreign nation" but it is not a hostile one. The stores in Canada are full of American products, as if you were standing in an America city - but for some areas that have French labels next to the English. Those who operate as if they were "Domestic Oil Production Planners In Nigeria" believe that their dream of a "green energy future" can be found by choking of domestic PRODUCTION of carbon fuels, their bigotry unable to show them that as the DEMAND remains high and the production is choked off the HIGH PRICES that "the least of these" will suffer is the racketeering and "ideological price gouging" that needs to be regulated by Obama. Their ability to transfer their flawed theories upon some other force is how these theories are allowed to metastasize.

With a loyal base who is watching the interview attentively, looking for talking points from their "grand poobah" that they can use as they remain on message - it stands to reason that President Obama had no problem dropping his statements from 3 years ago that a failure to turn around the economy are grounds for him to be sent home packing.

All that the sitting President Of The United States needed to do is to blame the opposition for destroying the economy, talk about "Growing Income Inequality" and this would be sufficient enough to have these mass of supporters to agree, without noting that the "Mission Accomplished Cities" that they dominate with their public policy have also shown no sign of a strong recovery.

The conscious memory of all factions of the American electorate is sparsely populated. Both of the main sides lie to themselves as a necessary means of promoting their party into high places. Lost in this is the necessary "self respect". This respect which is necessary to prevent a person from "losing THEMSELVES" as a necessary first step in standing with their team.

Obama is a politician. The purpose of this blog is to go beyond a focus upon Obama and to retain focus upon the masses of people who respond to him as a force, altering their consciousness in a manner akin to standing too close to a microwave oven.

Obama realizes that those who his campaign sold "Hope and Change" to some years ago and who he saw partying in Grant Park are not inclined to do an inventory of what they ordered and what showed up on their doorsteps. His job in campaign 2012 is to get the masses unified at the "line of scrimmage" and in fighting shape. As such they will be compelled to remain silent about the "parcel at their door" that is less heavy than they expected. To focus upon these grievances from the past campaign might ruin ~~his~~ THEIR chances in the upcoming campaign.

The popular adoption of "Income Inequality" provides the progressives with face-saving means of looking past the fact that their previous local takeover has failed to deliver the promised economic, academic and social justice advances that were promised during the run up to the takeover.

With a firm understanding that the base would rather "fight" than demand "self-accountability" the task of the Obama 2012 campaign is merely to compel the sitting President to have an "out of body experience" and pretend that his only hand played in the present condition was 3 years of fighting on their behalf. The enemy is the one who stopped him.

Loathed are the Pragmatic Obama Bots to do interpolation of the local "Mission Accomplished Zones" where their ideology and party has won but the people have lost greatly. It is the "Struggle Motion", the activities that produce unity and purpose that matters more to the Progressive-Fundamentalist than does his ability to manage the human resources toward an effective end.

I give tentative credit to MSNBC's Chris Matthews.
The qualification for my limited recognition of what he did IS NOT because he expressed unconditional criticism of Obama - he should have been doing this all along. Instead his network is just as guilty of being an extension of the Democratic Party as they accuse Fox News as being hacks for the GOP.

Credit is due to Matthews because, for the first time in Obama's term he has expressed HIS VISION of the country in a manner that is separate and distinct from Obama's vision. In as much as he is not hearing what Obama is communicating in this area - this "constructive feedback" was necessary to provide to the Obama campaign and administration a front channel warning that he is not merely in the fight on behalf of Obama for the "fight alone".

The real test of this new found consciousness in Chris Matthews will come if he shows that he is able to become the objective journalist that Larry Elder (himself not an objective journalist) challenged him to become.

The Obama Presidential Term Of 2009-2013 will one day be viewed by historians as the time period where Progressives were seen yielding many of what most thought were their "core values".

We must understand the mechanics of what is going on.
On my sister blog "Within The Black Community" I document how Black, otherwise Progressive individuals are made to remain strangely silent as the US government does things domestically and the "American Military War Machine" does other things internationally that would have otherwise had them taking to the streets. With the US military having bombed an African nation while participating in a coup against a sovereign nation it is unthinkable that any other US President could have gotten away with such an action except for a scant amount of protests from certain diehards.

Please note - as part of my longitudinal study on "What makes the Black Progressive Political Discourse Tick" I attended an "Anti-Libya War" presentation. At the end of this program in which they noted that Ronald Reagan had lead the original desecration of Libya by dropping a bomb in Gaddahfi's living room, killing one of his daughters - they noted that Obama had blown the entire house up, killing his son and other relatives.

Alas, however, at the end of the program - there was consensus among the crowd of speakers that they are STILL going to vote for Obama in 2012 over any Republican alternative.

Though Obama is acting like a Republican Imperialist - they agreed that he was better than having a "Complete Ideological Adversary" in office.

The root of their compromised state then is that they, unlike Martin Luther King Jr who they praise for his integrity - value "DOMESTIC SOCIAL JUSTICE" over being true to their calling on the international scene.

Thus - GREATER than their core interests in retaining their integrity to "Progressivism" is their defense against the Conservative adversary. Specifically - Black people can be compelled prioritize just about anything IF the situation is framed as a "Racial Threat". Regardless of the results had by the "favorable machine in power" (see Detroit) the Embedded Confidence Man Messaging Machine will convince the masses that things would be even worse if the enemy was in power. Not only would their Permanent Interests be shattered - they would also experience the grief of seeing the ideological enemy in power.

The Same Model, Expanded To All Progressives Nationally

Journalist George S Schuyler noted that there is no "Black Progressive Movement" in the 1940s Harlem, there is ONLY a "Progressive Movement". That Blacks had no specific and custom outcomes that they sought that could be distinguished from their White counterparts.

I agree with Schuyler.

Logic holds then that the same behavior that is noted among "Black Progressive-Fundamentalists" can also be noted among Progressives of any race in America when it comes to Obama and his military expansion.

Even though "Tax The Rich" and "Scale Down The US Military, Bringing Our Imperialist Troops Home" were two key platforms for progressives in their deficit reduction plan - with Obama as the Commander In Chief it is far easier for them to stand behind him and help him fight for "Tax Increases On The 1%" than they are able to stand strongly opposed to Obama for his latest military expansion efforts both in Australia and Eastern Africa. (We should also include the expansion of the CIA in East Africa as the unarmed Drones over Ethiopia belong to the CIA. The key difference between the CIA drones and the US Military Drones is that the mod kit to add weapons have not been applied - as of yet).

While many progressive find mental solace in the notion that there is a "hidden hand" force that forces the hand of Obama, compelling him to do things that are "not in his progressive nature" - the truth is that these forces, if they exist - should be watching how much easier it is for them to carry out imperialist operations when there is a "Favorable Commander In Chief" that the Anti-War Left is not going to run a propaganda campaign against.

Spec-Ops Command: SEAL raid book 'a lie'

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Special Operations Command is calling a former Navy SEAL's alternate version of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden a bogus work of fiction.

"It's just not true," U.S. Special Operations Command spokesman Col. Tim Nye said. "It's not how it happened."

Laden with conspiracy theories and attacks on the Obama White House, Chuck Pfarrer's book, "SEAL Target Geronimo" claims an alternative version of the raid in which the SEAL team shot bin Laden within 90 seconds of arriving at the Pakistan compound where the al-Qaida mastermind was holed up.

Pfarrer claims the White House issued a fictional and damaging account of the raid that made the SEALs looks inept. He says President Barack Obama's speedy acknowledgement of the raid was a craven political move that rendered much of the intelligence gathered on the raid useless.

Pfarrer's account broke into Amazon's top 20 book sales list last week, and Pfarrer has appeared on Fox News, CNN and in other venues to promote it.

"I have truth on my side," Pfarrer said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I spoke to the guys on the ground and in the secondary bird," he said, referring to the aircraft carrying a second SEAL team as a backup rescue squad.

"This is a fabrication," Nye countered, issuing an on-the-record denial on behalf of Navy SEAL Adm. Bill McRaven, who took command of all special operations in midyear.

In his previous role, McRaven oversaw the raid in May as head of the military's elite counterterrorism unit, the Joint Special Operations Command. Nye said McRaven was concerned the book would lead Americans to doubt the administration's version of events.

Much credit is due to the late Black Progressive historian Manning Marable in reference to his book "Malcolm X - A Life Of Reinvention".

As I make my way through the audio book there is a large collection of gems that I am extracting which provide important details of the relationships and debates during the late 50's - early 60's between various individuals and groups that were involved with (or in some cases tried to stay out of) "The Civil Rights Movement".

The name Ella Baker came up in the book "Malcolm X" because Marable sought to give some context in the development of the "Southern Christian Leadership Conference" as well as other progressive civil rights organizations that Ms Baker was involved in. While Baker and Malcolm X were not necessarily direct collaborators the both were important players in the constellation of voices during this period.

While I was personally interested to hear that the great journalist George S Schuyler was a close friend with Ella Baker - during his time as a left wing radical (before becoming a staunch conservative and critical of several elements and antics of "The Civil Rights Movement") it was more interesting to learn about Ella Bakers stance against the invasion of Ethiopia by the colonial power Italy.

To be clear - I did not read about Ella Baker's activism against Italian/European imperialism within Africa from the "Malcolm X" book. I learned about it from my additional research on Ella Baker - the name that rolls off of the lips of so many Black activist progressives today.

The common tie in my argument is the European nation of Italy.

The Italians invaded Ethiopia while "The League Of Nations" was impotent in forcing Italy to obey "international law". Upon its successful conquest - other imperialist powers applauded Italy for its "accomplishment" and efficiency. This appears to be the JUSTIFICATION in the minds of the back slappers.

The war appears to have been started when an African leader, Emperor Haile Selassie dared to express disapproval for some borderlines drawn by European colonialists and then went "doubled daring" as he flexed his military muscles in affirming his nation's right to the land mass in dispute.

The template is clear:

An African nation stands up for its own independence and self determination
External powers who's interests are threatened seek to compel the African nation to yield
A military incursion is initiated to enforce the will of the external/ colonial force

The information that I have seen does not sufficiently mention the prevailing sentiments of the citizens of Ethiopia with regards to this external intervention but it seems reasonable that they would be against these foreign forces.

The best way to understand the entire situation with these two news operations is that this news, while posted, has not been grasped by the opinion arms of their papers.

They have no interest in using these points to bludgeon the Obama Administration, thus giving his right-wing adversaries some ammo. Instead the larger progressive opinion swam has been more inclined to put aside their moral indignation and instead point out how THE RIGHT, despite Obama doing all that they favor - still does not accept his legitimacy.

In the wake of this disingenuous argument they can't bring themselves to note how much THEY have abandoned their own "Permanent Interests" against American Militarianism and abuses by the American CIA in doing "Extra-Judicial Killings" for no other reason than OBAMA is the Commander In Chief that approved the operation.

I told you that the guest in the video on the James Zogby Show perfectly captured the consciousness of the "Pragmantic Obama Bot/ JingOists". To be clear - The ACLU should be credited for its consistency on the matter. They have been calling out their views of illegal procedures as it relates to how "terror suspects" are handled by the US government. Those of which are American citizens in particular.

Samir Khan was an American citizen who departed the United States in order to work as a media operative for Al Queda.

Samir Khan's Parents Question US Government's Tactics In Killing Their Son

Relatives of Samir Khan, the former Long Island man killed last week in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen, broke their silence this week to question the government's tactics in pursuing American citizens who were deemed terrorists.
Khan, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Saudi Arabia, was killed alongside American-born Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, leader of al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.
Khan, 25, published Inspire, an online magazine encouraging terror acts, but relatives who live in Charlotte, N.C., asked why the killings took place without trials.
A statement from Zafar and Sarah Khan said, "Our late son Samir Khan never broke any law and was never implicated of any crime. . . . Why couldn't there have been a capture and trial? Where is the justice?"
The statement went on to cite the U.S. Constitution's Fifth Amendment due-process clause, which says no person should be deprived of life without due process, "yet our government assassinated two of its citizens."
Jibril Hough, a family spokesman affiliated with the Islamic Center of Charlotte, said Khan's relatives, who are citizens, felt it necessary to speak out as Americans.
"They know this is a broader discussion that America needs to take up," he said.
But David Schanzer, director of the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security at Duke University, in Durham, N.C., said al-Awlaki and Khan had turned themselves into enemies of the state.
"If you join an armed foreign force that is in conflict with the U.S., you have become a legitimate target," Schanzer said.
President Barack Obama said the strike that killed al-Awlaki and Khan was "a major blow to al-Qaida's most active operational affiliate" and gave no signs of stepping back such operations. "We will be determined, we will be deliberate, we will be relentless, we will be resolute in our commitment to destroy terrorist networks that aim to kill Americans."
Hough said the American Civil Liberties Union has been in touch with the Khans.
ACLU Deputy Legal Director Jameel Jaffer criticized the killings: "The government's authority to use lethal force against its own citizens should be limited to circumstances in which the threat to life is concrete, specific and imminent."

I have to credit President Obama for learning the hand that he was dealt and adeptly using it. On the one hand he has the advantage of hindsight to understand the mistakes made by the Bush Administration on the subject of handling of terror suspects and the progressive flash back it triggered. Secondly Obama is keenly aware that his left-wing base is loathed to stand against him and he is able to cross a line that is further beyond where Bush could have gone with reference to the Left.

By killing terror suspects Obama has destroyed the being that the ACLU and others can claim 'habeas corpus" over. The suspect's body has been blown to bits and thus there is no body that they can demand due process for any longer. It effectively "cuts to the chase" and closes the debate. Where as Bush had - a prison and several human beings alive who can give testimony to the ACLU lawyers - under Obama the ACLU only has body fragments and their words are inadmissible in court.

In an ironic turn of events the JingOists use Obama's boldness to note that his right wing critics don't give him CREDIT for being strong. In their own dishonesty they move from the debate over justifications and/or due process and instead render an indictment against their enemies charging them with "moving the goal posts" in their willingness to accept Obama.

In their own bigoted blindness they can't see that now BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT ARE IN AGREEMENT OVER KILLING TERRORISTS. Ironically Obama brought the left MORE RIGHTWARD!!!!!!

Leave it up to Obama's man at CNN and Time to prove my case. As seen in the article by Fareed Zakaria NATO's intervention into Libya lead by the US forces commanded by Commander In Chief Obama was a strategic and logistical success.

The one thing that Mr Zakaria never got around to in his article (nor will he on his Sunday show on CNN) is JUSTIFYING this bombing raid on the sovereign nation of Libya. The fact that it was sold to Americans as a "Humanitarian Aid Mission" didn't seem to bother Zakaria in the least. The fact that it was logistically possible for America and the powers of NATO to make 17,000 bombing raids in the air to destroy a nation in Africa thus proving European and Western Military Supremacy over all others is a foregone conclusion that Zakaria never needed to mention.

The greater difference between Iraq and Libya is that the New York Times, Washington Post nor any "mainstream" media source will need to later apologize for failing to scrutinize what they were sold as a justification for war and then later participating in the jingoism that ensued. I remember when President George W. Bush was in office and failing miserably on what appeared to be all fronts. He would calmly rest on the belief that history would be on his side years down the road. I think that this statement does not apply to George W. Bush but it will for President Barack Obama. If you look at the record, Obama has been able to accomplish things that have been beneficial to those on the left, the right and in the middle. I sense that people are genuinely frustrated with President Obama's temperament. He is calculating, thoughtful and willing to compromise. In my opinion that is what leadership is all about. I also think that he has been hamstrung by jealous politicians, like Senator Mitch McConnell, who would love to see him be a one term president. President Obama has navigated these waters with grace, class and thoughtfulness. This current political dilemma reminds me of one the wise Biblical figure of Solomon faced with two women claiming to be the mother of the baby brought before him. The women demanded that he act swiftly and make a definitive ruling as to who should have custody. However, his answer was shocking and seemed unwise and unethical, divide it into equal parts. President Obama has had to deal with politicians, who like the fake mother claim most virulently to know what is in the country's best interest even if that means our nation's demise. They have an attitude of "if i can't have it...no one can."

President Obama has had to be patient and delicate in letting people play their political cards, allowing them to reveal their true intentions. The real fear opponents of President Obama have is what are the cards he is saving for his next term in office, immigration reform perhaps? Politics is an ugly spectacle for most because the true intentions and motives of people are rarely discussed honestly. I continue to believe that President Obama has the best interest of our entire nation in mind and that may be what scares people so much! I also believe that in 2012 he will have ample opportunities to reiterate his positions and bring to light the tactics and motivations of those who sought to stand in the way of our nation's progress. I won't miss him because I don't believe he is going anywhere and I'm looking forward to his second term in office! The righteous are typically the ones willing to compromise and let go of the political baby!

For Mr Cook he does not require the use of statics and measures to apprise the actual effectiveness of President Obama. There is little doubt that the war-making in Libya based on false pretenses of "Humanitarian Aide" won't ever appear on Mr Cook's radar.

When I read the logic of a person like Cook I am less troubled with what he believes than I am what he might ALLOW TO BE DONE by Obama - all because Cook believes that "Obama is working in the best interests of the nation" and those of us who are on the look out merely have ill-intent for Obama.

Those who sell this notion - IRONICALLY use the presence of external racism against BLACK PEOPLE to compel BLACK PEOPLE to act in WHAT IS SOLD AS a "racially cohesive manner" but, again, is merely a rouse to advance Obama and his associated progressivism.

Now keep in mind that despite the fact that Rep Allen West, Rep Tim Scott and Justice Clarence Thomas are Black men - there was no movement which said "As They Go So Goes The Black Community". Instead they violate the tenants of PROGRESSIVISM and thus they are expelled from protective cover and are now "Free Range Blacks" - open for the attacks by White Liberal Snarling Fox Bigots.

The truth is that when Whites see Blacks LOOK PAST the present high unemployment numbers, the crash and burn of various "Mission Accomplished Cities" that had been sites of previous political victories by Progressives and Labor - the sight of the DOGGED PROGRESSIVE-FUNDAMENTALISM, in which they TRY HARDER at the same thing and always OBFUSCATE BLAME upon external forces - if the SIGHT that does more to undercut the credibility of the Black Community's political character than anything that President Obama can do.
