The revelation is potentially embarrassing for the first African-American president and the party he leads.
In August 2011, Obama signed an executive order requiring federal agencies to develop plans for improving workforce diversity.
The apparent lack of racial diversity at the Obama campaign headquarters comes at a time when the national black unemployment rate is nearly double the rate for whites.
According to the most recent report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), 14 percent of blacks are currently unemployed, compared with 7.3 percent of whites.
The divide is even more pronounced among younger age groups. According to BLS data, the black unemployment rate among 16- to 19-year-olds is 40.5 percent, compared with 22.5 percent for whites.
In Illinois, the black unemployment rate—as high as 28 percent, according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security—far exceeds the national average.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has come under fire from African-American groups in recent years alleging that the party organization has failed to award contracts to black-owned business despite repeated pledges to advance the interests such firms.
This blog is NOT ABOUT PRESIDENT OBAMA.
This blog is about the audience who is viewing Obama on stage and how they react to Obama.
I could take easy pot shots about the ironic lack of "diversity" in the picture.
I would edit my recording of "Prison Radio" in which Mumia "Killa Mu" Jamal claims that the Republican Primary of 2012 looks like the "Democratic All White Primary" of the 1950's while he failed to establish that no Black is blocked from voting as a Republican if they so choose - that his rhetoric is merely for his loyal base who thinks he is innocent.
I am not going to do any of this.
The sad part about the article and the facts that it posts about the Black unemployment in Chicago is that the BLACK PEOPLE KNOW THIS ALREADY and yet it can't bring itself to defend its own permanent interests as a separate and distinct entity as its interest in getting Obama reelected.
The cost of running the scheme of "Keep Your Enemy On Trial So You Don't Have To Indict Your Friends" is that when you happen to cast an eye on your friend - OR the city that a series of friends have dominated for eternity - you can't bring yourself to re-promote your interests, back above the greater interests that you have adopted.
Thus that person or entity that you now live vicariously is wise to note what you have compromised, merely returning to you when he needs you to do what you already know what you are going to do.
