Robert Fisk - "Challenge Authority, All Authority Especially When Government And Politicians Take Us To War"

"challenge authority, all authority, especially so when governments and politicians take us to war."

Despite being a conservative - the only reason why I hold onto DirecTV is because of "LinkTV".

I value consistency in muckraking more than I do agreement with my own right of center world view.

Sans consistency - those who had been protesting on the street are later seen spewing defensive propaganda once the political trade winds change.

While I don't believe that the left-wing critics have a viable alternative to the present order of the world I do support their willingness to point out the inconsistency and selectivity in the thoughts and actions of those they focus upon.

They are far more likely to be unmoved by the occupant of the  seat of power in question, instead choosing to criticize the organization itself.

I Reject The "New Black Panthers' " Attacks On The "President Of The United States"

Malik Zulu Shabazz has crossed the line, disrespecting the "President Of The United States", talking to him like he is a "Nigger" about to get into a fist fight on the corner of 46th and Brown in Philly.

Shabazz is free to disagree with American policy and be critical of the President, protesting, chaining his body to the iron gate of the White House.

Ironically while Farrakhan feared that the Libyan affair would bring out the racist "Tea Party Militia Klan" forces - it has actually brought out the vile and hateful vitriol by the likes of Shabazz.

Strangely enough Shabazz sounds like "Uncle Ruckus" in his vocalism.

Obama's Mean Girls

Obama's Nobel Peace Prize As A Weapon

When Obama has AJC lefty editorial cartoonist Mike Luckovich hitting at him you know that something is wrong.

In truth we need to go back to that day in 2009 in which the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to President Obama.   There were masses of people who were "self-convincing themselves" that the award was justified.  In his campaign run he brought "peace" as those people who had long been disparaged about their political and economic fortunes were brought "HOPE".

Operation Odyessey Dawn - A Justified War - Per The United Nations Mandate

The Grand Compromise Of 2012

Which compromise will the voters of 2012 have to make?

"I Used Military Violence To Achieve Certain Ends, Justifying My Actions Upon The Need To Protect The Lives Of The Citizens Of The Other Country In Question - Just As My Predecessor Did" "I Implemented Government Health Care For The Masses In My State As Governor Just As That Which The Man I Seek To Replace has Done"

Non-Partisan Congressional Budget Office: Obama Underestimates Deficits By $2,300 Billion

CBO: Obama understates deficits by $2.3 trillion

Note - This post AIN'T about Obama.

It is a point of reference upon which I plan to keep an eye on the "usual suspects" to determine if they will mention anything about this news.

If they do mention it, we can be sure that there will be references to:

  • The Two Wars Started by Bush Is Responsible For Our Present Fiscal Malaise
  • If The Republicans Had Not Insisted On The "Tax Cuts For The Rich" To Be Extended The Deficit Would Be Less
  • This News Is Further Reason Why The Republicans Should Cease In Their Attempts To Eliminate The Health Care Reform That Regulates The Insurance Companies.  The Same CBO Said It Would Reduce The Deficit

I notice as I listen to them that Present Obama - but more importantly THEIR IDEOLOGY - is never responsible for any ORGANIC negative impact on this nation's finances.
  • Defense Spending
  • Failure To Raise Taxes On The Rich
  • Corporate Tax Breaks
Are all the reasons why we have a deficit - in their view.

They Can't Accept That A Black Man Is President

"They Can't Accept That A Black Man Is President".

This phrase is usually intended for a White right winger who dislikes President Obama - mostly because of his race.   In their bigotry they are unable to "accept that a Black man has the power of the presidency".  This is usually shown by their contempt and disrespect for him.

Few of the people who quickly throw out this claim are willing to venture that this same notion might be detectable amongst those of their own ideology.

If the right wing shows a belittling of Obama by their overt actions then it is also true that the Progressive-Fundamentalists who target "the House Republicans" far beyond the point of rationality are also belittling the power of the President Of The United States.

Case Study - The Bev Smith Show

Tonight on the "Bev Smith Show" she had a guest named Dr Marvin Herndon.  Dr Herndon is a trained physicist and was invited as a guest to focus on the nuclear emergency in Japan.

Dr Herndon as a scientist played "the straight man".  I did not hear him compromise his integrity in order to fit into the obvious theme and scheme of the show.

With Bev Smith - her agenda was clear:

  1. The House Republicans and John Boehner are "voting against the people" as they plan to take money away from poor people and use it to build nuclear power plants
  2. The Corporations (Nuclear/ Electricity / Coal / Oil Companies) are all greedy and need to be checked by the Democrats in government
With President Obama at the helm of the nation - one would expect to hear a conversation about his LEADERSHIP and POLICIES on the issue of Nuclear power.  If you were expecting this - YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN DISAPPOINTED.

The name "John Boehner" (or did she call him "John Bonehead" once?) was brought up no less than 10 times in their hour-long conversation.

When Dr. Herndon stated "I sent a letter to candidate Obama - through Andrew Young - about how science education could be reformed but heard nothing" Bev Smith - IF she were transparent would have criticized Obama - just as she did the House Republicans and - (are you kidding me) President George W Bush.

There was radio silence right after Dr Herndon posited the news of his letter to Obama.

With the US House having 1/2 of the 1/3 of government power at the federal level - WHY was it that the US House - now that it is controlled by the GOP was so prominently talked about while the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES and his policies on electricity generation was not mentioned?

Indeed John Boehner is the SUPERIOR TARGET for the radio host and thus he received her focus.

Obama, Gas Prices And The Evidence That Certain Points Of Damnation Are Merely Used To Accomplish One's Political Agenda

I recall in 2008 having received this picture on my company e-mail from some associates, who despite my best efforts to focus on the actual deliverables on the streets of our community - chose to focus on partisan political indictments.

At this time just a few short years ago - please recall that the inflation in the gas prices that we were all battered with were a result of:

  • The President role as an "Oil Man"
  • The fact that Big Oil had open access to the White House and were siphoning the money from American's wallets - the Commander In Chief idly watching with pleasure
  • As a direct result of America's imperialistic warmongering around the world
As the picture shows - the index of gasoline prices was a sign of the political competence of the Presidential administration in question.

Please Note The Silence In This Space Today

I listened to the grief from a working mother telling me about how the increases in the cost of living has greatly impacted her.  She was forced to move out of her rental property and back with her mother to save money.  Yet with the increase in fuel costs - the savings that she had recognized is being consumed at the gas pump because now she has significantly increased the distance that she has to commute to get to work.

I asked her "Who do you blame for this?"

She said "Well I guess I have to blame Obama".

I corrected her - "There is a lot more to this than just the President of the United States.   The instability in the regions where the world market gets its oil triggers a run up in the price.  The "risk premium".

What you should be doing is to make note of these real world conditions and the next time someone tries to convince you that it is the fault of their political enemy - make sure that they are willing to be consistent and also cast the blame when they assist a more likeable person to take over."

My Observations
I actually have a large measure of respect for some people who have a very different ideology than I do but who can prove that they actually believe what they say.  We all have different perspectives.   Our debate should be about effective outcomes and "unanticipated consequences".

The most loathsome people to me - however, are those who have no other goal but to bolster their ideological positions.   They have no intention to retain their consistency.  Instead they use the tool of SILENCE, hoping that no one else will make note of the same conditions that have occurred in their "laboratory" yet their failure to publish the results - now that a "favorable person" is in power.

We are more inclined to see them go on the aggressive offensive - taking the lead to obfuscate the blame upon someone else - long before the masses get hip to their scheme.
