April 28, 2009 (Computerworld) Despite the Obama administration's efforts to update government Web sites, satisfaction with them has fallen for the first time in a year, a survey of 280,000 users of government Web sites found.
The average satisfaction level of users in the first quarter of 2009 dropped half a percentage point -- to 73.6% -- from the previous quarter's all-time high, according to a report from the University of Michigan and ForeSee Results, which tracks Web site satisfaction. The biggest drop in satisfaction -- 3% -- came in program sites, which are Web sites focused on federal government programs, rather than an agency. Two of the low-performing sites are Grants.gov, which is set up to help people find and apply for government grants, and the National Archives' database, which gives users access to immigration and military personnel records.
This decline comes on the heels of various updates that President Barack Obama's administration has put in place since he took office late in January.
On Obama's inauguration day, a major overhaul of WhiteHouse.gov was launched as the president was being sworn in. At noon that day, the president's official Web site appeared online with a new design that focused not just on the new administration but on new media. For example, it has a feature called The Briefing Room, where users can read the latest White House blog posts and even sign up for e-mail news updates.
Obama, who has already run an online town meeting and successfully fought to keep his Blackberry, is widely seen as the country's first tech-savvy president.

AJC: NYC financial workers see low-flying planes, panic
NEW YORK — A Boeing 747 used by the president was escorted over lower Manhattan by two Air Force fighter jets Monday as part of a government photo opportunity, causing a brief panic among office workers near ground zero.
Workers from several office buildings poured out onto the streets before they learned that the flights were innocuous.
John Leitner, a floor trader at the New York Mercantile Exchange Building, said about 1,000 people "went into a total panic" and ran out of the building around 10 a.m. after seeing the planes whiz by their building, near the World Trade Center site.
"Apparently, nobody in the building was informed that this was going to happen," he said. "Everyone panicked, as you can certainly understand."
He said the workers gathered along the Hudson River esplanade until a security officer with a bullhorn told them it was a planned exercise.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the government was conducting a photo op involving two Air Force F-16 jets and the larger airplane, a Defense Department version of the 747 that is called Air Force One when the president is aboard. It said it notified city law enforcement about the mission.
The NYPD said the flight "was authorized by the FAA for the vicinity of the Statue of Liberty, with directives to local authorities not to disclose information about it, but to direct all inquiries to the FAA."
Among the workers who left their buildings were some at The Wall Street Journal.
Kathleen Seagriff, a staff assistant in the news rooms, said workers heard the roar of the planes and then saw them from their windows.
"They went down the Hudson, turned around and came back by the building," she said. "It was a scary scene, especially for those of us who were there on 9/11."
Some staffers, who thought they made out an American flag on one of the planes, stayed behind. But she said most didn't want to take the chance.

PROMISES, PROMISES: Obama and black farmers
Does anyone else notice that the key situation where the left likes to see public money go into private hands is when it is to compensate a VICTIM?

Since this blog AIN'T ABOUT OBAMA and AIN'T ABOUT MY PERSONAL views - I am forced to make a personal observation about the TARGET OF THIS BLOG!!!
Whereas there is a debate about the age of the surviving "Somalian Pirate" - the only one to not get shot in the head by American sharp shooters - Is he 16? Is he 18? Is he 19?.......since he has been brought to America and will be processed through the American legal system.........WHERE ARE THE USUAL SUSPECTS ON THIS ONE?
Last week I reported on the fact that this was the first time that I can ever recall the balance of the Black leftist establishment CHEERING as 3 White members of the "American authority" shot 3 Black men in the head, killing them dead. Indeed CHANGE HAS COME!!! These are some strange days indeed.
Again, since Abdiwali Abdiqadir Muse has been brought to American for prosecution in the American courts - one would figure that we would also hear the same spirited defense for this young man by the usual suspects.
- WHY hasn't the administration absolutely confirmed his age?
- WHY did the United States kill 3 minors, violently shooting them in the head?
- WHAT was the rush? They already waited this long. WHY didn't they just wait the 3 out?
- IS the punishment for KIDNAPPING MURDER?
Again - this blog is NOT about Obama. I intend to INSPECT the reactions from the "Obama Base" and remind them of their PERMANENT INTERESTS and their purpetual pursuit of JUSTICE.
I do not want you all to CHANGE that much from your old ways now that there is a favorable adminisration to you in power.

Today All Of America seems happy about the news 20 miles off of the coast of Africa.
CHANGE HAS COME
This is good change.
I would be remiss if I failed to note a sea change in the reactions by the left to the news that the US Military has used military force to KILL other human beings as it projected its forward power somewhere around the world. Today the various left wing blogs are abuzz about how the "Obama military" has skillfully targeted 3 bullets to the forehead of 3 Somali pirates who dared to try and hold an American ship and its captain up for ransom.
Those who are happy today did not demand that the Obama Administration get permission from the United Nations prior to acting in America's interests.
Many of those who are happy have yet to realize that if they had things their way the 50 caliber weapons generally used by snipers would be outlawed from manufacture.
This is indeed a good day for America!
As have other days been good.
The key difference about THIS DAY is that those who had been "Anti-America Americans" have come around because they now like the leader who is in the White House - even though the same American military power has been doing the same thing.
(Shssssss Don't Tell Them That They Have Changed. I like them much better this way)

A few weeks ago upon seeing the first lady of the United States being pictured in a British newspaper donning a rake within the garden of her new house one particular Black person was upset and he started an Internet campaign to get "offended Blacks" to target the Rupert Murdoch owned newspaper in the UK for such an offense.
Now it seems that we have another picture of the "First Gardner In Chief" in her garden but it is being used for a different purpose.
It seems that Mrs Obama is driving home the notion of "organic gardening" and this has certain people upset. They are claiming that by driving the focus toward organic gardening that she is hitting against chemicals used in the gardening process as being harmful.
Thus my question - IF indeed gardening is Mrs Obama's love - why is it so problematic to some people to see her pictured in a gardening setting?
It is inextricable that for some Blacks - seeing Mrs Obama in the garden shows her as a "domestic". Oh how happy they are when she is seen as a "fashion model". Let the "media" show her full dimision beyond this and there is a problem.

- Reagan went to Philadelphia MS to kick off his presidential campaign, specifically targeting this city to antagonize Black people because 16 years prior the 3 Civil Rights workers were murdered there. Reagan did not acknowledge their murders
- Reagan left the nation with a tremendous debt balance as he followed the "Trickle Down" theory of economics
Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A26402-2004Jun8.html
"Voters and politicians became anesthetized to big deficits," Moore recalled. "Reagan was running these big deficits, and liberals argued it was going to be Armageddon. We were going to ruin the economy. Interest rates were going to go through the roof. And none of these things happened."
The fiscal shift in the Reagan years was staggering. In January 1981, when Reagan declared the federal budget to be "out of control," the deficit had reached almost $74 billion, the federal debt $930 billion. Within two years, the deficit was $208 billion. The debt by 1988 totaled $2.6 trillion. In those eight years, the United States moved from being the world's largest international creditor to the largest debtor nation.[/quote]
NOW INDEX THIS TO TODAY:
Obama's $3,600 billion budget FOR ONE YEAR will have an $1,800 billion DEFICIT!!!!!!!
The federal debt will grow by $9,000 in 10 years using Obama's budget spending levels
I TOLD YOU!!! The Obama Administration Seeks Suplemental War Spending Of $83 Billion For Iraq and Afghanistan
Earlier this year I made note that we all should look for a supplemental war spending package from the Obama Administration some time in first quarter of the year. I was off by a few days but correct on my observation of how the system works.
Candidate Obama attacked Evil Bush for this off-budget spending via Supplemental spending.
But - again - THIS BLOG IS NOT ABOUT OBAMA!!!
The purpose of this blog is to follow the actions of those who are in the "Verizon Wireless" band of his backers and how they have CHANGED.
Please recall the blood fight that took place twice a year for the last several years when the evil Bush Administration came back to congress to seek $60 - $80 billion to fund the Wars of Choice and Aggression. We heard about the wasted resources that could be used on domestic spending. We learned that the war is lost. This request for money was the centerpiece of their anti-war efforts in the legislature.
Stay tuned to the CHANGES in their tactics now that there is a present in place who they don't seek to throw Molotov Cocktails at for the sake of destroying him.

Congress Issues Fierce, Yet Varied, Responses to North Korea Missile Launch
Fresh off of a debate with an "Obama Manhood Protector" who argued that Obama's choice to change the minds of our enemies with outreach rather than saber rattling is more effective that what Evil Bush has done to turn the world against America.
Some people view what Europe thinks about America as the key measure of the effectiveness of American policy.
Instead we need to focus on what the people who DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT WE THINK OF THEM are doing in response to our policies.
I would be more impressed with some of you if you field the notion that North Korea is not an enemy of America - it was crafted into one by George W Bush.

Remember The Bush Era Claim That "Congress Should Not Be A Rubber Stamp For The Executive Branch"? The Democrats Have CHANGED
When your main defense for growing the deficit by $9 trillion in 5 years is "well George W Bush ALSO doubled the deficit when he was president" others begin to realize that there is not much value in debating you. Instead they need to make sure that you never have control over them and their person.
This is why it is so important to debate NUMBERS with the ideological bigot rather than concepts like "doubling".
Evil Bush's "doubling" of the deficit = $5 trillion in 8 years
Good Guy Obama's "doubling" of the deficit = $9 trillion in 5 years
Good Guy Obama will "triple" the definit in 10 years.
Where as Bush's "harm to the nation" came via staunch debate, Obama's harm is being steamrolled in because the opposition is in such a weakened state.
The only hope is to show the progressives that instead of seeking "Obama victories" they need to focus upon the core integrity of this nation. This buget strikes a blow at this. It is the market in which these Treasury Bonds that back this debt that is going to provide the feedback via higher interest rates and a devalued dollar.
