Obama Pays Tribute To The Dead At Dover Air Force Base

AJC's Jay Bookman: President pays respects to America’s fallen

Take a listen to the Al Jezeera report above.
They tell you "that" the media review of the return of dead soldiers from the battlefield has declined since Obama has been in office. They fail to tell you WHY.

They mention that in the past the pictures of the flag draped coffins had been banned. They don't give you context. At the start of the two wars - the anti-war activists made use of these pictures as a means of embarrassing Bush. This was the evidence of the BLOOD THAT BUSH HAD ON HIS HANDS.

I told you previously that Obama lifting of the ban would have no impact upon him. Not that the coffins stopped coming home. The MOTIVATION of the media has changed. They have no interest in "embarrassing Barack Obama", thus hurting his presidency and, perish the thought - putting a Republican War Hawk back into office.

So what about the right wing? Why shouldn't they exploit pictures of dead soldiers? This is a leftwing focus - that's why. The right is not inclined to attack the US military. Thus in this case, as with so many other points, the attacks upon a liberal president from the right takes a different form than how the left attacks a right wing president.

Words From The Man Who Inspired The Name Of This Blog - Spike Lee

Sometimes the best way to air the sordid details of the forces that are operating around us, seeking to influence us is to allow their words to flow freely.

Here is a piece in the November 2009 edition of Essence Magazine from filmmaker Spike Lee

High-Wire Act
Spike Lee considers what President Obama will need FROM US to succeed

Barack Obama's intelligence and generosity are vast. These are things any person can benefit from. But I think a lot of people felt life with an African-American president was going to be presto, chango! I'm not talking about economy, but racism. As a people, we have to understand Obama has to be president of the entire United States of America. It's unprecedented what he's doing. He's on uncharted waters. He needs our support, he needs our prayers, he needs our help in moving forward. He has definite influence on boys. I see it with my 12-year old son, Jackson. If someone says something critical of Obama, he's not having it! He'll say, "What do you want him to do? He's doing his job!" He's proud of his president. But he knows Obama can't do it all alone.

Supposedly The Secret Service Straining To Keep Up With Obama Death Threats

Secret Service strained as leaders face more threats

Keep in mind that the Secret Service does not discuss their investigations so most of this report is speculation.

The Boston Globe and MSNBC which is pushing this notion about "rampant Obama death threats" have some vested interests in making the case that there is an all time rise in "right wing" militia groups that hate Obama for racist reasons.

YET, neither one of them question the logic of the Secret Service going after teen aged kids posting threats to Obama on FACEBOOK and the worth of expending resources on these "script kiddies".

Senator Roland Burris Comes Out Of The Dog House With His Support For The "Government Option"

MSNBC: 'I would not support a bill that does not have a public option,' says Burris

This sounds amazingly like the select Black NFL players who said they would refuse the millions of dollars offered to them by Rush Limbaugh if he were a team owner.

Obama Administration Bans Photos Of Dying Soldiers. No Protests From The Left - As Long As They Can Take Pictures Of The Coffins

AP Photo of Dying Soldier Sparks Ban on Death Photos in Afghanistan

Recall the rantings by the American left regarding the Bush era ban on photographs of "Flag Draped Coffins" returning to the USA at Dover Air Force base.

I told you at that time that Obama's lifting the ban was immaterial. The left wing which is most likely to exploit the coffins as a means of embarrassing the president have no strong motivation to attack Obama. This was one of the easiest decisions for Obama to make.

Obama could outright ban anti-war protests. In as much as there are so few going on right now, once again, its no big deal.

Thus we see yet another opportunity for the left wing press to attack the Obama administration for limiting their ability to do factual reporting about the war. Thus far there has been no outrage about the photo ban from the battlefield where soldier's are dying.

(ChattahBox)—On September 4, the Associated Press published a controversial photo of Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard, as he lay dying on the dusty ground in Afghanistan, over the objections of his family and U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. Other newspapers refused to follow suit out of respect for the soldier’s family, but the image was widely distributed over the Internet.

Now, the U.S. military in eastern Afghanistan has changed its media embed rules to ban pictures of troops killed in action.

A new ground rules document released Sept. 15 by Regional Command East at Bagram Air Field reads: “Media will not be allowed to photograph or record video of U.S. personnel killed in action.”

Previous language said, “Media will not be prohibited from covering casualties” as long as a series of conditions are met.”

Master Sgt. Tom Clementson of Regional Command East Public Affairs, referred to the new language, as “a clarification rather than a new rule.”

The new language was added in the wake of the controversy surrounding the publication of Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard’s dying photo, by the AP, taken by photographer Julie Jacobson. Bernard was mortally injured, after being hit by a rocket-propelled grenade and lost one of his legs.

Other embed agreements do not ban photos of killed-in-action casualties, as long as certain conditions are complied with. But the AP’s release of the soldier’s dying photo in defiance of the family’s wishes, certainly caused outrage in the military.

Huffington Post: Study Shows Anti-Obama Stance Not Racist But That Of A Wierd Ideology

Note: I typically don't syndicate Huffington Post propaganda but it is unavoidable.

GOP Base Driven By Bizarre Ideology, Not Racism, Report Finds

When Stan Greenberg and fellow Democratic researchers launched a study of the conservative Republican world's reaction to President Obama, he figured they'd find ample evidence of racism.

They didn't. Not at all.

"Race just wasn't brought up," said a surprised Greenberg on a conference call with reporters Friday. He said that the focus groups were given as much time to talk about race as they could possibly need.

"If there was any kind of a racial element, we thought we'd pick it up. We didn't," said James Carville, who also worked on the report.

And when asked who spoke for the Republican Party, the answer was overwhelmingly: Fox News.

The study was done by Democracy Corps and Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research and was also authored by Karl Agne and Jim Gerstein.

What drives the GOP base, rather than race, was a genuine belief that Obama has a "secret agenda" to drive the country in a socialist direction, said the authors. These voters want more opposition, not more cooperation.

"They want more opposition," said Carville. "If you don't wanna get primary-ed, there's nothing in this [report] that tells [a GOP member of Congress] to go compromise on anything. Quite the contrary."

Hey Wait A Minute. You Mean The Obama Military Wants The "Bunker Buster Bomb" As Well? No Way!!!

US wants bunker-buster fast, denies Iran is reason

Maybe things have not CHANGED as much as some people assume.

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon is speeding up delivery of a colossal bomb designed to destroy hidden weapons bunkers buried underground and shielded by 10,000 pounds of reinforced concrete.

Call it Plan B for dealing with Iran, which recently revealed a long-suspected nuclear site deep inside a mountain near the holy city of Qom.

Obama Self-Adornment

I Have Respect For The People Who "Hate War" More Than They "Love Obama"

For antiwar protesters, the cause isn't lost

I imagine that 98% of the protesters have the man that they voted for in office as President. I also note the lack of "Anti-Obama" signs in the protests.

I disagree with the majority of their views.

Despite all of this I have to give these Anti-War protesters credit. They have shown a commitment to their Anti-War beliefs, placing them higher than their favorable views of President Obama.

The vast majority of their anti-war friends have no plans to join them, despite the fact that the 2 wars continue today.

Obama - Commander In Chief

Obama is lucky that he doesn't have a Conservative Michael Moore who tablulates all of his "celebrity apperances" as Moore did Bush's purported vacation time.
