President Obama Will Protect The 1st Amendment Rights - Even Of Hatefilled Preachers Violating The Spirt Of The Mission Of Jesus

Wright: Obama made 'bad' choice to distance self, but it's ok

(I had to do a double take. I figured that this was not Maureen Dowd of the NYT writing such a piece.)

President-elect Barack Obama made a "bad decision" by distancing himself from the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and his church, Wright said Sunday -- but that's OK.

"He's still my child," Wright said in a sermon in which he expressed pride in Obama's longtime association with Trinity United Church of Christ.

......

Wright, speaking at Trinity on its 47th anniversary, said he was proud of "the only church that produced the first and only African-American president in the
211-year history of the United States. No other church can say that."

Too bad he didn't mention how proud he was that he could attest that Barack Obama or any of the other people in the church are saved or not.

His talk was spiced with his trademark blend of history lesson, mimicry, singing, and -- depending on your point of view -- insults, or telling it like it is. One object of contempt seemed to be Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC's "The View," whom -- while not saying her name -- Wright twice referred to as a "broad," including once as "that dumb broad." Hasselbeck has criticized Wright on "The View."

Do you all remember when Whoopie Goldberg had her thing with Ted Danson several years ago? Whoopie "allowed" Ted to come on stage in Black face and say "Nigger, Nigger, Nigger, Nigger". Correct me if I am wrong - didn't Montell Williams and Tony Braxton who were in the audience GET UP AND WALK OUT to show their offense at Danson using this VILE WORD in their presence and as a joke?

Whoopie Goldberg who was the "vetter of what is 'offensive to Black people' at that moment" saw it as funny and took no offense to.

WHERE WERE THE LADIES IN THE CHURCH WHERE REV WRIGHT WAS REFERRING TO ANOTHER WOMAN AS A "BROAD"?

Where they not offended because he wasn't talking about THEM?.......FROM THE PULPIT! FROM THE PULPIT!! FROM THE PULPIT!!!

At this point does anyone believe that this string of behavior is the FIRST TIME that Rev Jerimiah Wright had ever acted this way in 20 years?

W.W.M.O.H.D.?
What Would Michelle Obama Have Done if she was sitting in church that Sunday and she heard Rev. Wright - a man of God and of "Social Justice" call another woman a "Dumb Broad" from the pulpit?

  1. Laughed?
  2. Said "Whew I am glad my pastor ain't talking about me"
  3. Said "Honey it's time we find a new church"
  4. Sat there and said NOTHING because this may is "Preaching the word of God as I see it"

"The hatred of the media and the haters in politics may have caused him to distance himself from us, but the love of Christ will never allow me to distance myself from him,'' Wright said of Obama. "I can no more disown him than I can disown any other child of mine who makes [a] bad decision. He made a bad decision, but he's still my child."

I am not sure about YOUR GOD but......"hatred from the pulpit" is a bit more displeasing to My GOD than "hatred by those who don't claim to be 'Fishers Of Men' for God that work in the media.

Wright also compared the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib Prison to the abuses of old colonial powers. "What we doing with a base in Cuba?" he asked. "We just take stuff."

There you go bro.!!! You know how to get the church to look past your own indiscretions. Switch back to the issue of Slavery, Torture and "Social Injustice" as carried out by the United States government. This is the gift that keeps on giving for your flock.
